BCLI Welcomes New Members

The BCLI welcomes Lisa Peters and Stanley Rule as new members and directors.

Ms. Peters is a lawyer with the firm of Lawson Lundell LLP in Vancouver, British
Columbia. She heads the firm’s research and opinions department, where her
practice focusses on conflicts of laws, constitutional law, contract law, statutory
interpretation, and Crown law.

Ms. Peters received both her B.A. and LL.B. from the University of British
Columbia. She also holds a certificate in civil and comparative law from the
University of Sherbrooke in Montreal. Ms. Peters was called to the British
Columbia bar in 1989, to the bar of the Northwest Territories in 2009, and the
Yukon bar in 2010.

Mr. Rule is a lawyer with the firm of Sabey Rule LLP in Kelowna, British Columbia.
His practice is focussed on wills and estates.

Mr. Rule received a B.A. (Hons.) in History from the University of British Columbia
and completed his law studies at the University of Toronto. He was called to the British Columbia
Bar in 1989.

Mr. Rule also maintains a website entitled Rule of Law at which he writes of legal topics of interest and those arising
out of his own practice.

Both Ms. Peters and Mr. Rule were appointed as members at large, with three-year
terms.
