Real Property Review (Work in Progress)

The Real Property Reform Project Phase 2 is a large project dealing with reform of several distinct areas of the law of real property law in British Columbia. These areas were identified in Phase 1, which was a preliminary consultative study completed in 2007.

Unfair Contracts Relief (Work in Progress)

The common law and equity have long had doctrines that allow a court to refuse to enforce an otherwise-valid contract because it is unfair. In addition, a number of statutes have been enacted to provide further protection for specific groups and to give courts greater remedial flexibility.

Commercial Tenancy Act Reform Project (Completed)

British Columbia's Commercial Tenancy Act is badly out of date. Enacted in the late 1890s, the Act largely restates English legislation from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
