This project is concerned with the arbitration of civil disputes. Its focus is on the Arbitration Act. It does not address arbitrations connected with labour relations or expropriation. Arbitration may be defined as the reference of a dispute for resolution in a judicial manner to a person other than a court. Arbitration is sometimes preferred as a speedier method of resolving disputes, in a private manner that is sensitive to the nuances of a particular business. This project examines reforms intended to enhance arbitration's advantages.
