This project concerns issues associated with the implementation in British Columbia of the Uniform Illegal Contracts Act recommended by the Uniform Law Conference of Canada for enactment in common law provinces and territories. The Uniform Act would empower superior courts to mitigate harsh and unjust results sometimes produced by the common law rules on illegality in contract. The Defective Contracts Relief Project is funded by the Ministry of Attorney General of British Columbia.
