Overview

At the time of this project, British Columbia had recently made a break with the traditional legal framework governing residential tenancies, which effectively subsumed them into a set of age-old legal rules governing land. Nevertheless, much work remained to be done to create a modern legal structure that fully encompassed the special nature of the residential landlord-tenant relationship. This project is an extensive review of the questions that need to be answered in order to create that structure.
