Frequently, a lender will require a borrower to grant the lender an interest in the borrower's property as security for repayment of the loan or performance of allied obligations. At the time this project was carried out, performing such secured transactions required the parties to navigate a complicated and highly technical system that applies in varying ways to differing security devices. This project is concerned with reforms to make this system more simple, modern, and coherent.
