MDAC Seeks Legal Capacity Lawyer

Published: 13 January 2010

The Mental Disability Advocacy Centre (MDAC) has received a generous grant from Zennström Philanthropies which will enable us to increase our focus on the right to legal capacity and implementation of Article 12 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

They are therefore seeking a Legal Officer (Legal Capacity) to join their staff and to manage this new project. The post-holder will increase the availability of information on the right to legal capacity law reform in Europe, provide technical assistance to governments undertaking legal capacity law reform, and build the capacity of civil society actors to participate in these processes. For more information and to download an application pack, click here. The application deadline is 15 February 2010.

Oliver Lewis, Executive Director of MDAC, is particularly interested in bringing on board a lawyer with experience of legal capacity from a country which has already undergone law reform.
