Tips and Resources for Assisting Older Women who have Experienced Abuse
Wed, Nov. 21, 2018
People’s Law School/Seniors First BC
CPD 1 hours
In 2017 West Coast LEAF and CCEL collaborated to produce the handbook “Roads to Safety: Legal Information for Older Women in BC“. The resource brings together information on a wide range of legal topics, including applying for protection orders, protecting oneself from financial abuse, and understanding one’s decision making rights. In this presentation, Alana Prochuk and Krista James will provide an introduction to abuse of older women, identify some ways to support older women survivors, review the handbook, and explain how it can be a useful resource in your own practice.
