Contract Opportunity – BC CRN Team Leader

31 October 2016

By Elizabeth Pinsent

The BC CRN is a provincial non-profit registered society funded mostly by the Ministry of Health. Its mission is to empower communities and individuals through coordination, collaboration and relationship building to stop adult abuse, neglect and self-neglect – together.

The BC Association of Community Response Networks has openings for two Team Leaders:

Team Leader 1 supports the BC CRN Mentors in the Interior Health and Northern Health Regions

Team Leader 2 supports the BC CRN Mentors in the Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal and Island Regions

The Team Leader is a contract position for up to 50 hours a month. The Team Leaders work virtually and independently from a home office with some travel to provide in-person support.

The Team Leader carries out three key roles:

  1. As part of a team of two Team Leaders each supporting regional mentors in their designated regions
  2. As part of the BC CRN Management Team consisting of the Executive Director and two half-time administration contractors
  3. As resource and program developers to support the work of the regional mentors and the CRNs

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for work which can be done from home, provide some travel and to work with a motivated and dedicated team of other contractors to make communities safer for those who are most vulnerable.

Because of the specialized nature of this work, the BC CRN understands that each of these new Team Leaders will require a fairly long orientation period. Start date can be negotiated.

The main role of the Team Leader is to act as a bridge between the communities and the provincial “Backbone” organization which provides all the funding, materials and support.  There are a fair amount of reporting and administrative duties inherent in the work.   However, it is also important that the successful candidate have excellent “people” skills and is able to motivate and support their direct reports.

A detailed Job Description is also available.
