The Simon Fraser University Gerontology Research Centre and BC Psychogeriatric Association in collaboration with the SFU Liberal Arts and Adults 55+ Program is presenting the joint 26th John K Friesen & 20th BCPGA Annual Conference.

The conference theme this year is “Promoting Mental Health in Later Life: Mobilizing Knowledge into Practice.”

On Day 2, Friday May 12, from 10:15am to 11:45 am, CCEL’s Director Krista James will be speaking at a symposium on Health Care Consent, Aging and Dementia – Who Decides What?

Symposium Chair: Barbara MacLean, Executive Director, Family Caregivers of British Columbia.

Other speakers at the symposium will include Alison Leany, Provincial Coordinator, Vulnerable Adults Community Response in Services to Adults, Public Guardian and Trustee of BC; and Barbara Lindsay, Director of Advocacy and Education, Alzheimer Society of B.C.
