The British Columbia Law Institute held its Annual General Meeting on September 17, 2014, laying the foundation for another year of comprehensive research and law reform work. BCLI Seeks Public’s Views on Rules for Terminating a Strata

Vancouver, 15 May 2014—The British Columbia Law Institute is asking the public for its opinion on proposals to reform how the Strata Property Act deals with the termination of a strata. BCLI issues Report on a Franchise Act for BC

31 March 2014—The British Columbia Law Institute recommends that British Columbia become the sixth province to enact franchise legislation. BCLI issued its Report on a Franchise Act for British Columbia today. The report analyzes franchise legislation in force in Canada, the U.S., and elsewhere, and contains a detailed legislative proposal with commentary. BCLI Recommends Reforms to Encourage Settlements of Complex Litigation
