BY British Columbia Law Institute

The March 2009 edition of Canadian Lawyer contains an article on the BCLI’s Commercial Tenancy Act Reform Project. Entitled “A new lease on life for a moribund law,” the article by Kevin Marron discusses the challenges of working with an Act described by one lawyer as “the Da Vinci Code of B.C. statutes.” The article includes quotes from committee chair Richard Olson as well as other leading British Columbia commercial leasing lawyers. It also helps to boost the profile of this project, as it nears the 31 March 2009 deadline for public comment on the committee’s tentative recommendations for reform.
