This project concerns an anomaly in the Libel and Slander Act. That Act contains special provisions protecting conventional broadcasters, but these provisions were enacted at a time before cable television was available and they are framed in terms that would make them inapplicable to cable television operators. This project examines whether the Libel and Slander Act should treat conventional and cable operators on the same footing.
