The Court Order Interest Act permits a court to award interest on a monetary judgment for the period between the time when the claim arose and the time a court finally issues judgment. This is known as prejudgment interest. This project takes a fresh look at prejudgment interest and makes a number of recommendations aimed at simplifying and rationalizing this area of the law.
